The Fredericton Academy of Piping and Drumming

The FAPD is a unit of the FSSAPB dedicated to cultivating new musicians. Since 1985, the Academy has been teaching the art of piping and drumming to students in our community. Over the years, we have trained hundreds of musicians, many of whom have achieved the highest levels of competitive success.

At the Academy, we believe in nurturing talent from the ground up. Students start their journey on a practice chanter or drum pad, mastering the fundamentals before progressing to play with one of our member bands. Our comprehensive program ensures personalized instruction tailored to each student's skill level, whether they're beginners or advanced players.

We offer classes for:

  • Bagpipes

  • Snare Drum

  • Tenor/Bass Drum
